The thin silicone pad precisely replicates the epidermis and dermis layers. When the injection is performed at the correct angle and depth, a raised skin blister – known as a wheal – forms visibly on the pad surface, providing clear, real‑time feedback on injection accuracy.
The generous 80×80mm surface area provides ample space for multiple injection sites, allowing extended repetitive practice on a single pad. After each injection, the simulated fluid can be withdrawn using the same syringe, enabling repeated practice at the same spot and maximising the value of each pad.
Once sufficient proficiency has been gained on a simulator, the pad may be applied directly to human skin for a more immersive, realistic training experience. In this case, however, please note that the pad does not provide a protective barrier for the underlying skin, so care must be taken to avoid the needle penetrating beyond the pad.
